Summary

ZoomReel is built to work without collecting your data. Your recordings are processed on your own device and are never uploaded.

What stays on your device

• Tab recordings (video), the mouse pointer positions and clicks captured while recording, and the on-screen position of text fields you type into (not the keys you press). These are used only to compute zoom effects and are stored in your browser’s local storage for the extension.
• Exported video files, which you download directly to your computer.

We do not have access to any of this data. You can delete it at any time by removing the extension.

What is sent over the network

• License checks (Pro only). When you activate or re-check a Pro license, the extension sends your license key to Polar (polar.sh) to confirm it is valid. No recordings or browsing data are sent.
• Purchases. Payments are processed by Polar as Merchant of Record. Polar collects the information needed to complete your purchase (such as your email address and payment details) under its own privacy policy.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share personal data.
• We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies in the extension.
• We do not read the content of the pages you record beyond what appears in your own recording.

Chrome permissions

ZoomReel requests permission to capture the current tab and to run on web pages so it can record pointer positions while you are recording. These permissions are used only for recording, and only when you start a recording.
